It was a Thursday evening in early fall, we had band practice, but we decided to make a little pit stop before to get some ice cream, aka an excuse for us to hangout just the two of us. Baran is known for getting milkshakes every time we get ice cream (and Korry always teases him for it), but we think he might’ve actually gotten real ice cream this day! We sat on the bench on the side of the building and just talked, probably awkwardly because that was just us at the time, two babies. We counted down the minutes til we knew we had to go to band. We got there a litttle late but thats okay (that’d later become a pattern for us, and still is, oops). Little did we know that was the start to one of our fav lil date nights 🍦❤️🥤

And so it was a cold winter’s night... Pittsburgh’s Light Up Night 2015. We got bundled up, Korry with extra layers and all, she hates being too cold, and we headed out with Baran’s family. We were enjoying the sights and sounds, and of course each other. We eventually made our way down to the riverwalk with a view of PNC Park and the rest of the North Shore, all lit up and beautiful. Baran stopped us and we talked for a bit and he asked Korry if she would officially be his girlfriend, after weeks of bugging him about when he’d finally make it official. We’re sure you can all guess what she said! 😉✨

The story that everyone asks about! After looking at lots of rings, Baran took the reins and designed the ring himself (and did a great job 🥰) He kept saying “soon” for weeks and weeks every time Korry would ask when he was gonna pop the question. Patience is not her virtue! 😅 So, finally, on November 13th 2020, a week before our 5 year anniversary, Baran pulled off the most perfect proposal Korry could’ve ever imagined. With the help of all of our family and friends, Baran set up a mini light up night just for Korry. Disguised as a pizza party Friendsgiving, which also sounded amazing, everyone threw her off by acting like it was a normal get together. We took a group photo outside and lit up the house, and nothing happened which made Korry think “Okay this definitely isn’t happening tonight.” Once we headed to the backyard, the thought of a proposal had totally left her head. We were just hanging around when we noticed that the tree wasn’t plugged in. Baran said “I’ll get it,” which rang no bells for Korry. He’s digging around under the tree and she’s totally clueless just watching. He got up and spun around, and he was suddenly down on one knee! 😍 In front of the tree with a question mark in Christmas lights, Baran asks Korry to marry him. And here we are, so she obviously said YES! 💍

We were quick to start planning for our special day! We wanted a fall wedding, and we aren’t the type to rush things, so we decided on 2022. We both liked the idea of the double “22,” so 10.22.2022 it was! Wedding planning has been such a fun time for us, we’re both very creative people, so the ideas are endless! We want our wedding to be uniquely “us,” and we want nothing more than for all of our friends and family to have fun and party the night away! Finally, we’re getting #WitoHitched! 🖤
