For guests who want to explore beyond the beaches, we highly recommend a guided hike with local guide Nick Hart. Born and raised in Antigua, Nick has more than 10 years of hiking experience and leads small-group hikes through some of the island’s hidden trails while sharing stories about Antigua’s history, wildlife, and landscape. Many of the routes explore the hills and coastline around English Harbour, with incredible views and stops at places that are difficult to reach on your own. Some hikes even include secluded beaches along the way. One of the most unique experiences on the island. Take a short boat ride out to a shallow sandbar where you can swim and interact with friendly southern stingrays in crystal-clear water. It’s a fun and memorable activity and great for both first-time visitors and experienced travelers. ⏱ About 0-5 minutes from English Harbour
One of the best ways to experience Antigua is by spending a day on the water. We highly recommend booking a charter with Barefoot Antigua, a locally owned company that offers private boat trips around the island. Their charters are completely customizable and can include snorkeling, beach stops, fishing, wakeboarding, or even a day trip to Barbuda. It’s a great option if you want to explore Antigua’s coastline, visit hidden beaches, and enjoy a relaxed day on the Caribbean Sea. Best part? The tour starts wherever you are!

It’s a great place to spend a relaxed afternoon and is also home to Catherine's Café, one of the island’s best beachfront restaurants. ⏱ About 5 minutes from English Harbour
One of the most iconic spots in Antigua, Shirley Heights offers incredible panoramic views overlooking English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard. It’s a must-visit for sunset and a great way to experience the island’s music, food, and atmosphere. ⏱ About 5 minutes from English Harbour Sunday – Sunset Party The famous Sunday evening party is one of the most popular events on the island. Locals and visitors gather for live music (steel drum and reggae), BBQ, drinks, and an unforgettable sunset over the harbor. Thursday – BBQ & Live Music Thursday nights offer a more relaxed version of the experience, with live music, BBQ, and the same amazing views — but with a smaller crowd and a laid-back atmosphere.

The beaches along Antigua’s southwest coast are known for having some of the bluest water and softest white sand on the island. If you’re looking for a classic Caribbean beach day with calm water, these are two of our favorite spots. Turner’s Beach A beautiful stretch of white sand with calm, crystal-clear water that’s perfect for swimming. There are also a few casual beach bars and restaurants where you can grab lunch or drinks right on the sand. ⏱ About 35–40 minutes from English Harbour Darkwood Beach Located just down the coast from Turner’s, Darkwood is a wide, scenic beach with incredible turquoise water and views of nearby Montserrat on clear days.
