Persephone’s Kitchen is a coffee shop in New Harbor with great little bites and juices right near the National. Post Office Bagel Shop: If you’re hankering for a bagel, the Post Office Bagel shop has decent coffee and a solid bagel.
Poor People's Pub is a personal favorite. Great Drinks, good food, without too much flair. If the sun is shining, go to poor people’s, get a hobo punch and meet us on the beach. Poor Peoples is down the road from the National towards the beaches. They are also dog friendly! The Oar is a lunch spot in New Harbor, it is a Block Island institution. The food can be hit or miss, but they have lawn games and is a great for a mudslide and an appetizer. Paynes Dock is another grab and go spot in New Harbor that you can get a quick chicken sandwich or some fries. Captain Nicks offers live music, and a great island atmosphere between Old and New Harbor. Spring House: Overall a fancier establishment, but if it’s warm, sitting on the lawn of Spring House has always been a favorite BI Moment. Aside from those mentioned; Yellow Kittens (for drinks and live music), the National, Old Island Pub, and McAlloons are all solid / more casual options.
Eli's: Great spot for a dinner with a few people. Eli's is a small, nicer restaurant in Old Harbor. The food is amazing and the vibe is super cute! The Manisses: The Manisses is an upscale, farm to table restaurant with, great oysters, and a beautiful patio. Great spot for a nice dinner.
Here are the different beaches around the island to check out: Baby beach (in front of the Surf Hotel), Town Beach, Mansion Beach, GOAT beach, and Clayhead. Clayhead has Clay deposits in the bluffs and if you rub it on your skin and jump in the water its a great exfoliation!
Best way to get around is via bike! Head all the way down Corn Neck Road there is a cool rocky beach you can spot seals, and sit and watch the ocean go by. Check out the "Zoo" - behind the Manisses there’s a small zoo (but also amazing). Whether you’re with children or a child at heart, it’s worth a trip here to see the animals, alpacas and stop by their farm stand (if open). Find (and walk) the Sacred Labyrinth along Corn Neck Road.
