These two love birds met in Coach Trevino's Spanish class their freshman year of high school. Dalton was late on the first day of class which for those of you who know Dalton know that he is never late for anything. He came in and sat down in the last desk available... the one next to the girl who would now become his future bride. Through lots of smiles, blushing cheeks, asking to borrow pencils, pizza lunch dates, notes being passed, and movie dates Dalton and Sierra began their love story. These two have been given the greatest opportunity to grow up together, experience high school and college together, and now getting to spend the rest of their lives together passing notes and going on movie dates. Cheers to these high school sweethearts becoming the new Mr. and Mrs.DeHart!
Dating for ten years it becomes hard to keep secrets from your other half so I (Dalton) had to come up with a way to surprise Sierra, because after ten years she knew I was going to propose soon. But I still wanted to be able to surprise her and take her breath away like she does to me when I see her. Step 1: Getting the ring- big failure on the surprise she found out, but this was probably for the best because now she was able to pick out the cut and style of the band and best of all it was a wonderful memory we made together. Step 2: Asking her parents- Although it had been ten years and I'm sure as soon as I invited her parents to dinner they knew what I wanted to ask I was still a nervous wreck. I wanted to make sure I would get the "yes" from her parents just like I was hoping to get the "yes!" from Sierra. Step 3: I knew I would have to be strategic to make sure Sierra was surprised this time, so I schemed and like any good son enlisted my mom to want to go take pictures of us at Texas Tulips. Sierra had always wanted to go here, so when I agreed she of course was suspicious (that teacher intuition right there), so in came the curve ball. Step 4: Curveball-I enlisted her friends Emily and Lindsey to be the "worst friends ever" and take Sierra out to get there nails done and "accidentally" hint heavy that the Proposal would be Sunday. Step 5: Day of the proposal- I was nervous, but I had to keep my cool other wise all the planning would go to waste, so we took cute photos for a while then found a secluded spot. Step 6: Ask- The moment was here! Even thou I knew the answer to the question I was about to ask my heart was racing. I was so nerves because the next few words would change our lives forever luckily as I got down on one knee I didn't have to wait long as her face brightened to that of a star. Her first answer was not a simple yes... it was a "Duh!" followed quickly by "I mean yes yes a thousand times over yes!" Operation Tulip was a success!
