Melissa & Cameron first met in person at the Buzzmill in Austin, Texas on September 11th, 2017. It was a Monday which generally dooms a first date, but Melissa was still working retail at the time and was only available to meet at that time. She wore her bird dress and he wore his long sleeve button up, both over dressing for the occasion. Hours went by and the conversation continued to blossom. The night drew to a close and Cameron asked when Melissa would be available again - and it just happened to be that Wednesday. Needless to say, Cameron & Melissa hit it off. Now there's a running joke that we will never forget the day we met due to the unfortunate date it fell on. #NeverForget

The day is December 31st and the weather is mild. There's a party we're expected to attend with dear friends to ring in the new year. Leading up to the event, Cameron recommends the couple dress up for the event, and that Melissa should do her nails. She sensed something was up, but didn't want to press on. Skip to the party where Cameron is low key shutting down in a comfy chair across from Melissa, who isn't sure why he's avoiding her. Then 11:55pm comes around and Cameron asks Melissa if she wants to join him outside while hugging her. She feels the ring in his coat pocket and realizes what happens. Then Cameron leads her out the front door wear there are festive lights illuminating him getting on one knee and asking to enjoy the rest of his days with her. Naturally, she said yes and rang in the new year an engaged lady. Doubtful that there will be a New Year more memorable for the couple than that of 2019!

The story above is about how Cameron proposed to Melissa, but it doesn't mention how Melissa was already planning a proposal of her own. She had been planning for a few months then and was ready to pop the question, however part of her plan required external participation that did not happen according to plan. Regardless how plans change, the show must go on! The date is January 29th 2019 on a Tuesday night and he doesn't suspect a thing. Melissa had spilled the beans that he beat her to the punch, but that she was still going to propose at some point, as it was too perfect to pass up. The night starts out with Melissa and Cameron attending a showing of Spider-Man Enter the Spiderverse. After thoroughly enjoying the movie, Cameron and Melissa set off to get a drink - but where would they go? Melissa gave Cameron directions to avoid spoiling the surprise, they were off to the Buzzmill. The weather was dreary but Melissa knew it had to be the secluded area where their first date took place. So out they go to sit in the cold and under the year -round Christmas lights. They talk and talk, however, Melissa is shifty and anxious. That's when she initiates the scene. Melissa had acted as if she was making a special video for her best friend. The video she had been editing throughout the week was not a dramatic reading of vines for Eindra her best friend, but actually a compilation of all of Cameron's closest friends telling him how great he is and how loved he is. The movie concludes with Melissa saying how much she loves Cameron and that he probably knows what is happening, but still hope he's surprised. Finally, the video conclude with - "look up." At that point Melissa was on her knees and asking for his hand in marriage. Naturally, he said yes and then they rushed off to the heated sanctity of the indoors.
