Caleb and I were living in Milledgeville, Ga at the time. I was there for school and he was working in one of the downtown restaurants. My roommates were working at the same restaurant, so I started frequently going there. I remember when I first saw him. He was sitting at a table with some coworkers and friends for Trivia Night. When I first looked at him, I remember this feeling in my gut that just drew me to him. I did not officially meet him that night, but I learned his name was Caleb and I knew that we would run into each other at some point again in this small town. A couple days later, my roommate Roxy asked if I wanted to come hang out with some of her coworkers. Caleb was to be one of the coworkers there, so I immediately said yes. The time came for me to go to the meet up, and I was so excited to meet this guy that sparked something in me just from a first look. I don't know if I would call it "love at first sight", but something definitely told me that I needed to get to know him. The night went like any other in Milledgeville; drinking, laughing, listening to music. After that night, we started hanging out as friends and realized that we had a lot in common. The relationship started slowly from there, but I knew that I had fallen hard within the first month. I am not sure if Caleb knew it consciously yet or not, but the music he would tell me to listen too definitely told me he was feeling the same way. After 6 months of spending almost every day together, he asked me to be his girlfriend on Dec 12th, 2015 and the rest is happily ever after.
November 22, 2020 Caleb and I had been talking about getting married, so we knew that we were heading in that direction. However, I did not know how or when he was going to propose. Throughout the years, I had hinted at some ideas of what I would like in a ring, or how I would like it done, but ultimately it was left to him. I had already planned on meeting one of my best friends that Sunday evening for dinner, so it wasn't surprising when it all of a sudden became a girls' night for my closest group of friends. Mind you, I had no idea he had a reached out to my Matron of Honor, letting her know tonight was the night. At the restaurant, I was none the wiser, even though everyone was acting a little odd. They were all on their phones, but I didn't think anything of it. We had finished eating and had a few drinks, but by 8pm, everyone started getting up all at once. I had no idea why we were ending girls' night so early, but again, I didn't question it further, as we all had work the next day. As Jordan and I are driving home, I am talking up a storm about how I am so ready to get engaged to Caleb and continue this life that we have built with each other. Again, no idea that I am 10 minutes away from that exact moment. When we pull up to the house, I noticed that there were candles in the windows but it still did not click that something was up. We walk up to the house and right when I get the porch, Caleb comes out in a suit, glass of wine in hand (for me of course), and begins his speech. It took a second for me to catch on, but once I did, the tears started falling. He opened the box and inside was the ring, that he had personally customized for me. After I said yes, my other friends cheered from the side of the house, as they got to share this moment with us.
