Shane and Rachel met the old fashioned way... through a dating app! And it's a good thing they did, since they lived within a mile of each other and may not have found each other otherwise! Rachel was new to NC after taking a job with Fidelity in 2022. Rachel packed up her two kit-cats, Addy and Ellie, and moved to Raleigh. It was a new city for her and while only knowing 2 people in the area before she moved, she quickly fell in love with the city. While she met lots of Buffalo Bills fans and friends here immediately, she was ready to find her guy. Shane was working on his perfect bachelor pad vibes and working from home. He spent his weekends at Canes games or playing with his first love, Bella. Shane's had Bella since she was a puppy and was 8 years old when he introduced her to Rachel on an ice-cream date. In fact, one of the first green flags Shane saw in Rachel was that her and Bella have the same birthday! The coincidences didn't stop there. Shane has family from Rochester and even more so, his step-mom went to the same high school as Rachel. If that wasn't enough, back in the day, that family used to own farm land in Penfield, which would end up being the land that Rachel's childhood home was built on. Clearly, the stars were aligned from the beginning. Shane pulled off the most perfect proposal in the Finger Lakes of NY. To honor the city where they fell in love, they chose September 19th as their wedding date as a subtle nod to Raleigh’s 919 area code. Since then, Shane and Rachel have built a life they love in Raleigh with their 3 pets. They've moved into a rented townhouse together and their weekends are spent with friends, traveling to visit family, trying out new local restaurants, or spending time together doing anything at all because it's always spent with laughter, inside jokes, and an easy kind of happiness.
