Maid of Honor
My cousin, Megan is my "Beepin' Lady" (a nickname we coined as kids when riding trikes in our grandparents' basement). She's been there for me my whole life, traveled the world with me, and makes me laugh harder than anyone. I am so lucky to live in the same city as her and our weekly hangouts make my life infinitely better. I have always looked up to her and I couldn't do this without her by my side!
Best Man
Nate is Noah's older brother. He has been a role model for Noah growing up, educating him about topics ranging from early 90's computer games to mountain biking, literature, and environmentalism. These days, Nate and Noah share a love of the outdoors and have been spotted recreating on California mountains and Minnesota lakes.
Bridesmaid
Hannah is Noah's younger sister and a brilliant surgeon living in Kansas City. Hannah and Sarah have bonded over their love for the meals Noah cooks, white wine, books about Rad Women, and their growing collections of plants. Hannah and Noah have grown up together over the years from bickering siblings (Hannah once intentionally burned Noah's morning bagel; Noah once stuck silly putty in Hannah's hair) into good friends who talk about nerdy medicine and physics stuff.
Groomsman
Jonathan and Noah have enjoyed getting to know one another over the past few years, especially since they both recently moved to Madison where they work on opposite sides of Charter Street. They are looking forward to playing music together when the time is right. Jonathan is Sarah's younger brother and is the glue that holds the Wise family together. He's always ready to chime in with a "Wise-family phrase" (which seem to get more odd and yet funnier with age). He's funny, thoughtful, and he will always be the best part of Sarah's childhood.
Bridesmaid
Nicole and I met in graduate school and are officially the same person living states apart. We love gourmet cheeseburgers, IPAs, lake runs, texting during our favorite shows, and girls' nights spent dancing/singing (very loudly) to our favorite songs. The two of us have enough energy to fill a weekend with back-to-back favorite activities. She is the best cheerleader and supporter. When we're together, you can find us non-stop smiling in pure happiness.
Groomsman
Tyler and Noah met on a Sellery Hall elevator late one fateful night on the way up to floor 4B, and 15 years later they remain good friends. As roommates for each of 5 glorious college years they bonded over cheesy 80's tunes and engineering homework. After literally flying around New Orleans for many years, Tyler moved back to Wisconsin around the same time as Noah.
Bridesmaid
Marnie and I met in Minneapolis in graduate school and instantly connected while spending many nights writing papers in coffee shops all over Minneapolis. Marnie lives in California now but we've been able to have annual girls' trips to Seattle, Austin, and reunions in Minneapolis. She is the best "think tank" idea generator, has the funniest sense of humor, and fully supports the sentimental side of my soul.
Groomsman
David "Jones" and Noah shared some wonderful experiences at UW college parties, culminating in an epic last year together at their lakeside Mendota court apartment. Jones has tried unsuccessfully for 13 years to destroy Noah's homemade table, which to this day is a cornerstone of Jones' downtown Milwaukee apartment. Jones is the CEO and president of the imaginary consulting firm JonesCorp.
Bridesmaid
Gina is my college sweetheart! Our "meet-cute" happened at the finish line of the UW Welcome Week 5K when we exchanged numbers as freshmen looking for new friends. Gina was dating Mike, who was living with Noah in college. Before Gina and Mike's wedding, in the Venetian Hotel during her bachelorette party, Gina crafted her plan to pair Noah and I together at her wedding... the rest is history. We would literally not be here without her!
Groomsman
Mike and Noah have been good buds since their freshman year at UW. They shared an awesome basement cave bedroom during their sophomore year. They can be found air guitaring at concerts, charging the slopes of upper Michigan, and reminiscing about college. Mike claims that Noah once broke his nose during a friendly scuffle, but without a proper medical diagnosis nobody knows for sure what happened.
Bridesmaid
In the magical land of Florence, Italy, Amanda and I became best friends over bottles of Chianti, Shakespeare balcony performances, and really good pasta from Chef Bruno. We returned to Madison before moving to Minneapolis where we continued to drink good wine, create content for feminist podcasts during our walks all over the city, and #PYL at our favorite studio after our days working with kids. She and I continue our Walks and Talks via phone every Thursday (our podcast has yet to be picked up for syndication).
Groomsman
Alan and Noah became good friends as freshman roommates at UW indulging in geometry wars and hallway sports. The cruel hand of circumstance eventually carried them to separate apartments in the later college years, but they have remained close. Alan has been kind enough to share his deep wisdom with Noah, including nuggets such as "if it would be hilarious, then do it."
Bridesmaid
Natalie and I are bonded by water, the basketball court, and the track. In high school we started our days at 6am swimming laps, sat in class together, and then returned for a second practice, only to sleep for a few hours and do it again. When I convinced Natalie to come to UW-Madison, we spent our Badger days as roommates and thankfully didn't have to separate - moving to Minneapolis after college. Disney wooed her to live in California until fate stepped in again and brought us both back to Madison the same year!
Groomsman
Mike and Noah became friends in San Diego first over surf trips and seaside happy hour, and then during the frequent voyage from La Jolla to Encinitas for band practice at the barn. They have shared many a fun party wave and dimly lit dive bar gig over the years. Although certain recent global events have complicated things, they are looking forward to a west coast reunion tour in the near future.
Bridesmaid
When Megan joined our "club" of Spice Girls-obsessed friends in 2nd grade, my life was made infinitely better. Megan was the SAINT who patiently tutored me through every math lesson after school through middle and high school, hosted the best slumber parties as we grew up, and was the first person I'd call when I had the best or worst day. Megan is the life of the party and brings out the best in everyone!
Groomsman
Sam and Noah go way back to high school, where Sam was kind enough to drag Noah along to parties and social events. They passed the days and nights snowboarding at Rib mountain, disc golfing, and slowly but surely figuring out how to have fun and also be functioning adults. They shared a Stevens Point apartment one summer, and have stayed in touch while Noah was off doing California stuff.
