We met through a dating app (Bumble) and went on our first date at Top Golf in Jacksonville, Florida, on December 12, 2021. Makenzie won in mini golf, shuffleboard, AND pool. And that's when Flint knew she was a keeper... Just kidding - Flint won, but the rest was history.

From December 2021 to August 2023, we were shuffling between Gainesville and Jacksonville. During that time, we created some incredible memories together. We traveled to amazing places—Montana, Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas, Kentucky, and all over Florida. We attended concerts for some of our favorite artists: Parker McCollum, Eric Church, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Brad Paisley, and Chris Stapleton. And let’s not forget about gaining our adorable little troublemaker, Rocky, who joined the family in December 2022—if anything’s tested our relationship, it’s definitely been this furry ball of chaos! In December 2022, Makenzie completed her MBA in Jacksonville and landed a job that brought her to Gainesville in August 2023. Since then, we’ve been busy living our best life together!

On April 10, 2024, we headed to JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort for Flint's work trip. The moment we arrived, we couldn’t resist heading straight to the beach. Makenzie nudged Flint to check out the water, and when he returned, he asked her, "How do you want to be introduced tonight?" Confused, Makenzie replied, "Um, as Makenzie... your girlfriend?" Flint grinned and said, "I have a better idea," and then pulled out the ring!
