We're Getting Married!

Michael and I met at the Summer 2024 White Party hosted by the Singles Ministry at First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG). Michael came open-minded, while I was determined to find my match—no pressure! We met over a game of bingo, where I couldn’t help but notice his great smile and kind demeanor. We hit it off right away and became fast friends!

Despite busy summers on both sides, we kept in touch and finally made plans. We went to see the Gladiator sequel with Denzel Washington. Both of us were excited (and a little nervous), but from the start, we clicked. We had a fantastic time, and it became clear we wanted the same things out of life. By the end of the night, we decided to make it official—and the rest is history!

Michael proposed a little over a year after we started dating. It happened at Blackwall Barn & Lodge - a restaurant located in Columbia, MD. Toward the end of dinner, they brought out a dessert plate that said, “Will you marry me?” As he started to kneel, I didn’t even let him finish—I screamed, jumped up, and practically tackled him out of sheer joy! After several minutes of screaming, I finally said "YES!" and have been beaming ever since! We are so grateful for our friends and family who have loved us, prayed for us and poured into us throughout this season. Now let's celebrate - see you there!
