It should be in the 70's during the day, getting down to the 50's at night. There is a bit of wind that comes through in the afternoon so make sure to bring a jacket or wrap.
The lodge has chickens, ducks, and 2 very friendly outside cats. Donny and Rusty (our dogs) will also be there with us (inside and outside). There are also lots of birds, small critters, deer, and the occasional bear!
The ceremony is on grass and the reception is mostly on cement. I don't really know what to call the cement - but it's the kind that is pressed and has lines in it. Keep those things in mind and just be comfortable :)
There is parking at the lodge along the fire road that runs next to it. Please park on the same side of the lane as the other vehicles so that there remains an open lane for fire access.
Sometimes! It depends on the service you have. Supposedly, Verizon gets the best service up there (but we havn't tested that because we don't have Verizon) . Alex has Sprint and he did have some service.
The lodge sits at about 3,500 ft.
Groveland is a little pass-through town on highway 120 on the way to Yosemite. There are some amazing views and an awesome small town feel, but besides that - not much else. The Lodge is located in Groveland, but on the outskirts. If you're looking for it on a map - looking for Buck Meadows will get you closer to the lodge. The 120 entrance to Yosemite is about 15-20 minutes from the Lodge. From the lodge, it takes about an hour to get to the valley.
