Aaron and Liz have spent many a Sunday afternoon lounging in the Meridian Hill Park, just across the street from the Josephine Butler Parks Center. Built in 1927, this 40 room mansion is now a community center, renamed to honor one of Washington's most respected leaders, Josephine Butler (1920-1997). Butler started America's first ever union of black women laundry workers, helped lead the integration of DC's schools, as well as championing park revitalization. Today, this building also houses several non-profit organizations: https://www.washingtonparks.net/josephine-butler/
