Back in March of 2013, the Dodgers were scheduled to play the Pirates. Sarah had just started law school and was headed to Mission Beach to get some studying done in the sun. Dakota was finishing up his service in the US Marine Corps and was also headed to the beach. After a chance meeting a debate sparked about each other's baseball hats. Sarah was supporting her LA Dodgers and Dakota was representing his Pittsburg Pirates. Some banter about the winner of the upcoming game later that night ensued and next thing we knew it we were at Coaster's Saloon, a local Baseball bar right off the beach watching the game together. The day we met was the first out of a four game series. We ended up watching each of the four games together as our first four dates together. At the end of the series the Dodgers had swept the Pirates and Dakota jokes to this day that he almost never called Sarah back after such a loss. Thankfully for both he decided to call her out for another date despite the loss of the Pirates to the Dodgers, it was the beginning of a relationship to last a lifetime. Over the past 9 years, each chapter of Sarah and Dakota's lives together has been filled with love and support from friends and family and heartfelt thanks to each of you for being the village that has seen this relationship though thick and thin. We cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you.
