Jessica and Dustin met in Reston, VA amid the COVID pandemic in 2020. It did not take long for them to go on their first date after meeting on the dating app, Bumble. Their first dates were filled with adventures like surviving a small hurricane while sitting in the outdoor patio of bartaco on their first date, going to weddings, making homemade hot sauce (Jessica succeeded and Dustin failed miserably), and making sure Dustin passed the test of meeting Jessica’s family dog Bella. Over the next few years Jessica and Dustin grew inseparable, and did everything together from Chris Stapleton concerts to dressing up like Yellowstone characters for Halloween. While living in their first apartment together, they decided to adopt a hound mix puppy named Palmer. Jessica and Dustin worked together to get through the puppy phase but could not have been happier living life with their fur baby. With Palmer joining the family it was time to move on to a house with a yard. They purchased their first home in Round Hill, VA, in August of 2022. A few weeks later in September, Jessica and Dustin traveled to Nags Head, NC for Jessica’s annual family beach trip. On the third day of the trip (also the only rainy day of the trip), Dustin had planned to take Jessica out to dinner to celebrate their anniversary, and then explore a quiet beach with the premise that it would be a good place to take Palmer. The day started out in terror with Dustin cutting his finger badly, and thunderstorms constantly rolling through. Luckily the storms cleared up just as dinner ended, and Jessica agreed to take the beach walk regardless of the “No Dogs” sign at the entrance to the remote beach. Dustin used the opportunity to propose to Jessica on Coquina Beach, just south of Nags Head. Since the engagement Jessica and Dustin have been staying busy with wedding planning, and Dustin’s career change.
