We met for the first time at Rebel Pizza in Austin. After getting to know all about one another's favorite bands, food, and places to travel, Jake let it slip that he thought the capital of Texas was DALLAS! It was decided that we would have to take a trip to the capital grounds so that Jake could see that in fact it was the real deal. So we thought, why not go right now. We headed downtown and walked the capital grounds and even had a family take a sweet picture of us. We stopped in a coffee shop after to keep talking about things we have in common, like our love of tiny houses and we both knew that we had met someone truly special.
On our vacation to Sweden and Norway, Jake had something up his sleeve, or more accurately, in his backpack. During our stay in Tromso, Norway, we took a Fjellheisen (cable car) ride to the top of the mountain (1,378 ft above sea-level) to the upper station located at Storsteinen (In english: The big rock). As we made the 10 minute trip to the top, a snowstorm blew in and white overtook the landscape. Jake led us to the peak of the mountain while I slowly made my way behind him, stepping in his footprints to avoid the knee deep snow. After what felt like a long trek to the top, we finally made it! Jake asked me to be his partner in life forever and after a few laughs and sobs, I said yes!
