This is a 6.3-mile out-and-back mostly flat trail near us! It is considered a moderate route and it takes around 3-4 hours to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring, and dogs are welcome off leash in most areas.
There are many trails and campgrounds around this area and a beautiful place to hike around. We recommend the following, but the website has many options! -Alaska Basin is typically used as a backpacking trail to the other side of the Tetons but has breathtaking views with moderate elevation gain; you can just make it an out-and-back trail to your discretion! -Mill Creek is an awesome trail that is mainly used for biking and can be ridden up and biked down, or just biked downhill from Grand Targhee. It is also for hikers for those interested!
Endless amounts of trails, sightseeing, wildlife sightings, etc. We're talking Jenny Lake, Bradley-Taggart, Inspiration Point, Hidden Falls, Delta Lake.. You can't go wrong here, but make sure you look up what trail you're interested in before going. They vary from easy to extremely difficult! Reach out for recommendations.
The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is a mountainous country bisected by the Continental Divide. Here you'll see geysers, bubbling hot springs and waterfalls galore. Check out Grand Prismatic, Old Faithful and/or the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Feel free to ask any questions!
This website will give you all the details you need on every trail that is possible to mountain bike in our area. Renting mountain bikes is too easy to miss out on this! We recommend renting from Habitat/Grand Targhee Resort, or Wheel Wranglers. The bike rental companies also have townies and e-bikes for cruising around if you're interested in that!
This is a great area to relax, picnic, walk, take a dip or get on the water! You can rent paddleboards, kayaks, boats, etc. around the valley. Search for "Bates Bridge" on your maps, or check out Wai Mauna's helpful website. You can rent from them or Teton River Supply.
Epic spot to check out, especially if you're into fishing. This is a brainchild of Jimmy Kimmel's and he opened it up right on our Snake River-- go grab a beer while people fish, eat some good food and leave with some merch. If you're interested in fishing, our first recommendation is a guided trip with Worldcast Anglers.
