Before either of us knew where life would take us, it brought us both to New Mexico for an internship at Kirtland Air Force Base. Emily was finishing her degree at Auburn University, and Nolan had recently completed his degree at the University of Minnesota and was beginning his master's program at the University of New Mexico. What started as a summer internship quickly became something much more meaningful as we discovered a connection that distance could not diminish. After the internship ended, we began a long-distance relationship while Emily returned to Auburn to complete her senior year and Nolan continued his graduate studies in New Mexico. Following graduation, Emily accepted a position in Redondo Beach, California, beginning another chapter of long-distance as Nolan finished his master's degree. For another year, we navigated life across state lines, making the most of every visit, phone call, and opportunity to be together. When Nolan graduated and accepted a job in California, the distance finally came to an end. Today, we are grateful to call Redondo Beach home and even more grateful for the journey that brought us here. From New Mexico to Alabama and California, our story has been shaped by adventure, perseverance, and a lot of miles. We are so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our lives together and are honored to share this special day with the family and friends who have supported us along the way.
