Whether one believes in God or some form of fate, our meeting cannot be described as anything apart from divine. At a small group Bible study, we met each other and only later realized we both had the same thought: "What if?" We would not dare claim love at first sight, but we knew something happened that night. A week later, we talked at another church event, exchanged phone numbers, and agreed to have coffee. Coffee turned into daily morning runs together throughout the summer. When the summer ended and college studies resumed, the distance between Washington and Arkansas seemed like an insurmountable feat, but we spoke every single night. We both knew we wanted to progress our relationship further. On a trip to Seattle that November, a letter to Elizabeth beat David there. The contents of the letter culminated in a question--a question Liz responded to with a "yes." Over a year later, Liz responded to another question with a "yes." On December 25th, 2019, we expressed our love for each other in an engagement that included family, a scavenger hunt, and wonderful Christmas celebrations. On August 15th, 2020, we excitedly look forward to joining in the covenant of marriage, becoming one, and beginning our next and every phase of life from this point forward together. Let's celebrate!
