Kyle and Sommer met with a swipe of their finger. Yep, that's right - Tinder. Kyle's bio had said he could make eggrolls and sticky rice, anytime anywhere while Sommer expressed a need for her holy grail. How could they resist each other? They matched and immediately hit it off, texting and texting with smiles on their faces and blush in their cheeks. Kyle and Sommer went a step further and had their first date for sushi where Kyle had no desire to warn Sommer she had sushi on her arm the entire time. Whether he thought it was clumsy or cute, we'll never know. Afterwards, they sang loudly and horribly in the car to each other until they arrived on campus for a long walk. And there it was, the bridge Sommer refused to cross because there was a tale that whomever you crossed the bridge with would be the one you marry. Standing right before it, with tingles in her heart and love on her mind, she let Kyle lead the way across the bridge. Regardless if she knew Kyle was the one or fate telling her to live a little, she followed - not knowing where this single choice would lead her today. Kyle and Sommer spent the rest of their night, talking about the past, the present, and the imaginary stars. And something spoke to both of them - what if? The thought lingered on their chests as the date came to an end at 4 am - an end for good. Why, you might ask? Kyle was only in Hattiesburg for the one weekend at Camp Shelby and had to return to Tennessee, where Sommer would probably never see him again. Except she did. The very next night. And the very next weekend when Kyle decided Sommer, a girl he'd only known for one week, was worth driving 6 hours for - multiple times at that. Adventure after adventure, Kyle and Sommer found their way in Hawaii, where Kyle would romantically wait until sunset to propose (right after stepping his big toes on Sommer's foot) on Sunset Beach, shortly before they marry.
