Drew and Deanna met for the first time in May 2014. Deanna had been out and about most of the day with her good friend Kevin. Kevin suggested that they stop at his friend Daniel’s house since Deanna had just met Daniel briefly the previous weekend and his house was on the way to Deanna’s parents’ house. It was shortly after they arrived at Daniel’s house that Daniel himself arrived. They all greeted on another and began to discuss classic cars. Daniel proceeded to show Deanna his Chevelle in the garage. As they entered the garage, Drew (who was roommates with Daniel at the time) had just walked in the front door and headed over to the garage to say hello to Kevin. This was the first time Drew and Deanna had ever seen each other. Drew was immediately interested in Deanna because of her pretty red hair and admiration in classic cars. Drew overheard the conversation Deanna was having with Daniel about her dreams of restoring her deceased grandfathers 1978 Corvette to its former glory. He was very eager to help and Deanna was thrilled to have someone knowledgeable willing to help out. They spent the next 2 weeks working diligently on the Corvette and were about to start it 2 days before Deanna’s 21st Birthday! She was thrilled. Drew and Deanna would continue to see each other and spend time together briefly over the next couple of months. On July 15th, 2014 Drew took Deanna out on their first official date to Ollie’s Trolley in Washington D.C. It was at this point that they officially began to be exclusive boyfriend and girlfriend to one another.
We all know we would be lying if we said Deanna didn’t have a hunch about the proposal happening over the 2019 Fall Cruise Week....She was very patient and tried not to get her hopes up. With Drew always being one to go against the grain, there was a part of her that did not believe he would ask her then because of her Facebook post notifying the world that her dream proposal would be at the Wawa on 120th street surrounding by revving engines of all the race cars that flood Ocean City during Cruise Week. Saturday night came and went. There was no proposal. Deanna moved on and hoped that it would then happen at the Halloween Party they held yearly which was the following weekend. Sunday morning came and everyone was packing up to head home from Ocean City. Deanna, her Dad, Drew, Brent, and Alyssa had headed out early to get seats at Barn 34 for breakfast. After breakfast, Deanna hit the ladies room while everyone else walked outside. Little did she know, this was the time Drew used to have a quick conversation with her dad about asking for her hand in marriage. When Deanna came back out Brent then ran into the restroom before leaving. However, this was to call Brandon to meet us at Wawa at 120th street with his camera. It was about to go down! Brent walked back outside and everyone hopped in their cars and we cruised down to the Wawa where Deanna was told they were meeting up with Brandon for some quick car pictures. They arrived and were all conversing in the parking lot. Deanna was shocked Brandon even had his camera with him because he had been cruising around in his new Mustang all weekend. She never thought twice about it and proceeded to ask Brandon where they should park for some good shots. It was in this moment that Drew came up behind Deanna, tapped on her shoulder, and got down on one knee once she turned around!
