Provenza is an area of Medellin that is super tourist friendly. Many speak english and night life over there is very active. I would reccomend taking a stroll in the neighborhood
Beautiful Botanical Gardin. I would recommend riding the metro cable up since its a beautiful view of Medellin (getting tickets for the train are not too complicated in the city). You need a few hours to explore, and it is mountain terrain so wear comfy shoes. Go early and leave before sunfall.
There are a bunch of tours that will drive you to El Penol. You can choose to climb to the top for an amazing view/panarama. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if its your first time in Medellin. Bring cash and buy your tickets when you arrive if you are not going in a tour.
Going for a horse ride through the mountain is a lot of fun and a typical Colombian experience. This tour does horse rides and typical mountain dishes for very affordable prices. It can be a full family affair as they are very beginner friendly. They do tours daily at 11AM and 2PM but you must book in advance.
Coffee is the heart of Colombian Culture. I would definitely recommend going on a full day or half day farm tour to experience how coffee comes from fruit to cup. Going horseback is an option on most tours as a fun option.
Colombia is one of the largest exporters of flowers internationally, and well know for silletas. In this area they arrange flowers on the silletas, which are what silleteros famously carry on their backs. The Santa Elena flower farms and silleteros gives you the opportunity to see where these famous flowers are grown, and learn about the flower growers, or silleteros from this region.
If your doing a few days and dont mind a day trip, this is a nice river activity day. Its beautiful waterfalls, lazy river, and good coffee. I'd recommend going with someone who speaks spanish for this full day adventure.
