We were set up on a blind date by Wilson's sister (Clara) and her friend (Elizabeth). Elizabeth went to Restore Church with me. I'm fairly certain the Holy Spirit dropped that idea into Elizabeth's head in the middle of a conversation. Fortunately, she conspired with Clara to set Wilson up with me. After some persistent nagging, Wilson agreed to give his number out. Neither Wilson nor myself have social media so it was a truly blind date. No social media stalking. In June 2024, we met for ice cream and talked for over an hour. When he was walking me to my car, he said "You know, I didn't hate it.".... I laughed, not sure how to respond to such a romantic statement. But it told me enough about him to know I would be willing to see him again. It was genuine, innocent and honest. Now, it is one of my most endearing memories. That's how it started. Second date: Kayaking. Third date: Deeren Camp (a massive family reunion). Many lunch dates. Countless disc golf dates. He proposed June 23rd, 2025. Just over one year after we met. Wilson is an answer to many years of prayer. God knew what he was doing. I'm excited to become part of the Deeren clan. God gets the glory, the praise, and the credit. Heather
