Like many millennials, ours is a love story born of an online dating app. We met for the first time at a coffee house, on a Tuesday, after work. We spent an hour in easy conversation, sharing our backgrounds and interests. Wilson asked Caitlin to grab dinner, but she politely declined as Eiger was eagerly awaiting her return home. A week later they went to dinner. In the weeks that followed Caitlin tried to take it slow, but realized she was fighting a losing battle. In early May Wilson left town for a work trip. Before the airport he stopped to see Caitlin, who packed him an array of snacks for the plane ride. He knew in that moment he was falling for her also.
Weekend walks at a Toledo Metropark is their routine. So Caitlin did not think much of it when Wilson wanted to take a Sunday stroll at Side Cut grabbing a coffee first as they had done several times before. What she did not know was Wilson's plan was to propose at the coffee house where they first met. However, she did not want a coffee that day, of course. Instead, while walking along the Maumee River Wilson suggested they stop to sit on a bench. Caitlin was totally caught off guard when she turned back from the river to see Wilson on one knee.
