How We Met

We met at work. We worked only two offices down from each other but we never met. It wasn't until one of our coworker mentioned to me about what a wonderful guy Wilson was that I sought him out. We began as friends. Wilson attended all the happy hours I set up with the coworkers and from there Wilson visited me every morning with a cup of coffee in his hand and chatted with me about the long bike rides that he has taken on the weekends or just seeing how my day was going. When he was telling me about 100 mile bike rides in one day and still didn't think it was enough, so went to the gym and ran another 3 miles, I thought the man was CRAZY! But Will was such a mellow, easy mannered and gentle guy that I just loved chatting with him. I looked forward to his visits every morning.

First Date

The marathon!

Our first date was AWESOME! After all that chatting in the office, one day we decided to meet at downtown Mountain View. We started at Stein Beer Garden. Had a couple of beers and decided to walk down Castro. We stopped by Cascal for a cocktail and continue to share stories about our lives. Then it was a walk back down Castro and we grabbed a bite to eat at Oren Hummus. Afterwards, I got him to go dancing with me at Mollly McGees....boy was he was a fish out of water! He was sooo awkward. I know he was only doing it because he was just letting me take him anywhere. That is one of the last times he has ever danced. We finished the night off at Shell Shock for Japanese whiskey. It was a marathon date! We started at 3 pm and I believe I ended back home at midnight. When your first date goes this good, you know the rest was going to be awesome and it has been.

The Proposal

October 5, 2018

My birthday! Will wanted me to take the day off so we can go for a picnic. He packed a picnic basket, we took the dog and he drove us down to Santa Cruz lighthouse. It was such a beautiful day at the beach. There was a picnic table across from the lighthouse. We started to unpack the basket, Will asked me to open the side pocket to take out the wine glasses. I did so and he said, there should be a small box in there too. I dig around got the box out, out of instinct I opened it and then I said Yes! Then I realized oh crap! he hasn't even asked yet!! I close the box and handed it back to him and said no, wait, you haven't asked. I was laughing and he was smiling at me. I was sooo embarrassed! He then said, "ok let's do this." He came around the table got on one knee and said, "Annie, will you marry me?" I answered "Yes!" Then I was like "no! you didn't give me a speech!" I am such a dork. Needless to say, Will did not follow up with a speech. We hugged and kissed and laughed about what a dork I was. It was perfect and so us :)
