Becoming the Wilsons

Allan and I met the modern way: by swiping right on "Stir", a dating app for single parents, in January 2023. Our first date was at Bahamas Breeze and if you let him tell the story, I was incredibly late. But that little snafu didn't stop our immediate connection or the great conversation that followed. However, our second date was when all of the magic happened. We went to dinner, followed by an escape room experience - we made a great team even then! I didn't want the night to end, so we went for drinks at a bar next door and the sparks continued to fly. When the night was over, he walked me to my car and gave me the sweetest kiss. I just remember driving home that night proclaiming to my mom "I think he's the one" - when you know, you know! Since meeting, some of our favorite memories have been taking many cruises, traveling to Louisiana, spending time with each others families and kids, testing out several tik tok recipes, completing a few puzzles and lots of romantic dinner dates.

Our proposal in March 2024, was simply perfect. Allan planned to propose to me during a family get together at our house, but the opportunity never presented itself. When everyone left for the evening, we were both exhausted and plopped on the couch. Allan asked me to put on slow jams on YouTube to help us unwind. About 5 minutes into the mix, 'On Bended Knee' by Boyz II Men came on and before I knew it, Allan was on bended knee professing his love and popped the question. It was completely unexpected but a very intimate and special moment that I will never forget. We're so excited for you to join us as we say "I do" at our destination wedding in Fall/Winter 2025.
