Kayla and Chris first met at a local gym where Kayla worked during nursing school and Chris was a member. Although Kayla had eyes for Chris after they first met, it took a couple of years before Chris finally asked her out! The rest, as they say, is history.

Chris was ready to pop the question in December 2017. He wanted to combine two things that Kayla loved. Kayla ice skated as a child and has fond memories of doing so with her best friend. Kayla and Chris are also avid Chicago Cubs fans. It just so happened that Wrigley Field had a Christmas market including a skating rink right out side of the friendly confines! After a day of shopping and hanging around the city, Chris and Kayla made it to the rink to go skating. With lights sparkling above them & holiday music playing, Chris got down on one knee to ask Kayla to be his wife!
