Our Story, God’s Timing

Our love story is a testimony of patience, faith, trust, and God’s perfect will. From the very beginning, our journey was guided not by chance, but by God’s divine purpose. God brought our hearts together in His time, His way, and according to His plan. It all began in Willemstad, Curaçao, a beautiful and lovely island. We began as friends, growing closer through worship, prayer, and serving together, never realizing that God was quietly turning our friendship into love. During those years, we were actively involved in church, serving and dedicating our talents to God. Dodely played the violin with a soft and gentle spirit, while Wilmy filled the church with joy through the piano, guitar, and drums. Our love for music and our commitment to God slowly brought us closer. After finishing high school, Wilmy had to move to the United States to continue his studies. Before he left, he made Dodely a promise that he would stay faithful to her, no matter the distance. And he did. Our journey was not easy. Long-distance brought challenges, and we walked through seasons that strengthened our trust in God and in each other. Through every trial, our faith remained our foundation. A few years later, Dodely also moved to the United States to continue her education. Finally, after years of patience, prayers, and trust, Wilmy asked Dodely to be his wife. She said “YES.” Now, we are preparing to begin our forever together, trusting God’s plan and grateful for every step of our journey. Through friendship, distance, challenges, and faith, we learned that true love is built on trust, patience, and God’s guidance. Our love story is written by God, sealed with faith, and centered in His perfect plan. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 “Love is patient, love is kind… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” Song of Solomon 3:4 "I have found the one whom my soul loves."
