Q & A

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We are having our wedding outdoors and in a tent. We are suggesting cocktail or festive attire. Please wear something that makes you feel great and celebratory. No need to go too fancy or formal- make sure you are comfortable for dancing, and being outdoors in September in Michigan. Weather may be unpredictable. Expect that it can still be hot out but we will be on a lake, which gets breezy at night as well. The ceremony will also be on the lawn and there will be a walk from there to the reception (not too far), so choose footwear accordingly. We will also have lawn games for those who want a break from dancing.

Question

How can I participate in Jewish traditions that are new to me? Can I participate even if I am not Jewish?

Answer

Our wedding is all about bringing our people together and celebrating with you. We are thrilled to have you join however you feel comfortable. We are part of a welcoming Jewish community, and we encourage you to ask questions at any time. Many of our guests will be experiencing these traditions for the first time, so know that you're not alone. We hope you enjoy this new experience! Our wedding officiant and dear friend, Rabbi Alicia, and our coordinator, Jenna, will do an amazing job explaining what is going on throughout the day. We will also have printed programs to help you along the way. We are so excited to have fun and make memories with you! We hope you join us in singing and dancing the hora, even if it is your first time.

Question

Will kids be invited to the wedding?

Answer

We are blessed to come from large families and communities we care about deeply. Unfortunately, we have a capacity limit. So, we will only be able to include the kids who are in the ceremony/wedding party and those will be specified in the invitations and RSVP.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We do have a set capacity so we have invited everyone directly. If you have a plus one, it will be indicated in your invitation and as an option in your RSVP.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Email invitations will be going out in May and we ask that you RSVP by July 31 (this will become available when the invitations are sent). If you will be needing a shuttle to/from our hotel, we ask that you let us know by July 1 so that we can reserve transportation for you. This will be available in the RSVP.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

We will accommodate all dietary needs and there will be space to include that in the RSVP.

Question

What if I have accessibility needs?

Answer

We will also include space for those in the RSVP. There is a path and ramp for those who need wheelchair accessibility between sites.
