How We Met

(Meg's Version)

I met John on my very first day at college in August of 2011. I was the new freshman and he was a "cool" sophomore that I wanted to impress. His roommate told me to call him Mackie and I never looked back. Little did I know 10 years later I'd be one! We immediately clicked, I've never felt more comfortable to be myself around anyone so quickly and we were close friends all throughout college. For 3 years we were great friends and would stop by each others dorms/houses, go to the library together, drive home together and sometimes we'd sneak out of pre-games early together to get to the bars sooner (shout out to the Brick and their Krazy Kates). Eventually some friends started graduating but John stayed a 5th year (thank god) while I was a senior and we spent even more time together. This was the year I realized that I probably liked him more than a friend (to no one's surprise). In April of 2015, John and my friend (hi Christine) came over. Christine asked us if we were dating yet and John said "yes" as I said "no." This resulted in John saying he asked me to be his girlfriend a week ago and me saying I didn't realize that was what he was asking. After bickering about it for about 30 seconds we decided yes, we were dating and our anniversary date would be the randomly selected date of April 10th. The rest is history! Since then we have graduated, gotten "adult" jobs, and moved in together. I could not have asked for a better foundation to start off this relationship and to continue building a life together. John is truly my best friend and soul mate. I can't wait to marry him!!!

How We Met

(John's Version)

Move in weekend Sophomore year, my roommate and I (shout out Colt Tooley) we’re watching some TV, probably Tiger or the Yankees, when two girls walked into our room; one from his hometown and one from Long Island. After some introductions and conversations, we agreed to pre-game together that weekend. After the ladies left the room, Colt and myself turned to each other and I knew we had to spend some time with Meg… So, I did just that. Fast forward through some bad frat parties, dining hall dinners and tom-foolery at The Cat, we became closer friends. Sometime during my Senior year, I let our group of friends know that I was staying for a 5th year; a “Victory Lap”, so to speak. It was during this Second Senior year that Meg and I bonded more and more and more. Partly because most of our friends graduated on time (boooo), mostly because I liked Meg. So, after leaving numerous pre-games to run to the Brick and chug Krazy Kates, I knew this woman was for me. We ended up, sort of, making up a date that we started dating. A month later we were back on Long Island and out of the Oswego black hole. From here, the rest is history…
