I'd like to introduce you to my other half!

Breanna moved down to Knoxville on a swimming scholarship to The University of Tennessee. William came back to Knoxville to obtain his master's degree at UT. Breanna started teaching a dance (Brazilian Zouk). On an adventurous kick, William started going to dance classes. From there, Breanna & William became friends. One night after dance Breanna & William went out for drinks to Carolina Ale House. The night lasted 3 hours without them looking at a single TV (they're a TON of TV's there!). Breanna's family thinks Penn State Football is the best. William's family thinks Clemson Football is the best. Breanna invites William to a PSU game to prove him wrong! A couple weeks later on a road trip to see the game, William and Breanna spend a LOT of time in the car together, and William meets Breanna's family and friends in PA. Secretly Breanna's best friend asks her why she is not already dating William? Breanna's response is that she thinks having romantic relationships with students significantly violates the codes of professionalism and student/teacher boundaries. After the trip William tells Breanna that he is "smitten" with her, and that he understands the boundaries she has set as a dance teacher. Unexpectedly Breanna responds that she feels the same way and based on his statement she believed this would be a mature and significant relationship worth pursuing (one of those "once in a lifetime" things). A couple dates and a peanut butter and pickle sandwich later, they began dating on December 14, 2016.

Every Christmas Breanna's family has a tradition of opening 1 gift Christmas eve, an ornament! Looking for one, they both stumbled upon THE SAME Letters to Santa box ornament! Fast forward: Christmas in PA 2018! After telling family William realized he should ask sooner than the Labe family Party at the end of the week. Now with no plan he decides Christmas eve eve to ask Gehrets permission to marry Breanna. Big Gs advice: "Take her to the Womelsdorf pool where she started her swim life chapter & say you want to start a new chapter with her." William tries Christmas Eve morning to go by the pool, but Breanna insists he's already seen it & they were in a hurry to get to her cousin's house. Plus it's cold. Now without a plan again William thinks, "hmm, Ali is Breanna's sister she never had, maybe I'll ask in front of their house." But he didn't have Ali's number to ask her to be ready with a camera :/ Last stop that day was spending the night with Breanna's grandparents, mom and brother, with the ornament exchange. Breanna excited to give hers to William passes it along. William stunned asks "is this mine?" "Yes, of course" she says! Before opening, Breanna's grandmother, Nana, yells "what is it an engagement ring?" Breanna replies "of course not Nana." *William thinks to himself, "oh Nana, if you only knew what was coming." He is shocked when he opens his gift as he got her the exact same ornament but couldn't say anything at that moment. He then gives her hers. She looks confused and quickly opens it. It's the exact same ornament!!! They laugh about it and tell each other the story of getting it and how William hid it in his sleeve. Then Nana yells out, "what's sticking out of it?" SURPRISE!!!!! Breanna opens the box to find a letter to Santa that reads: "Dear Santa, Please let Breanna Leigh Folk say yes! Love, William" and a ring inside! Everybody was excited! She of course said yes, just like William had asked Santa for!
