Some may call it a modern day love story. Wendy had recently relocated to Sacramento, CA with her family. Will was in town from San Francisco for a 6 month work project. Girl swipes right. Guy also swipes right. What initially started as eagerness to connect with a like-minded individual of the same age due to proximity, inevitably grew to a friendship consisting of frequent meet-ups, and then quickly turned into that RomCom-Netflix-movie that we can’t get enough of. When Will moved back to SF, they got a slight taste of what long distance feels like. I’m sure that seemed minuscule to what was to come. Wendy found herself back in North Carolina for PA school when the two of them embarked on a challenging yet worthwhile journey of balancing chasing their hearts and career aspirations. After 2 years of monthly in-person meet-ups and long nights of FaceTime, the two were back in SF before relocating to Chicago. Will got a new job opportunity that was luckily close to his family. They managed to settle down there, where the proposal occurred in Chicago’s very own Lincoln Park.
