Willow and Quentin’s story began long before they ever knew it would. They attended the same school starting in sixth grade but never quite crossed paths in a meaningful way. Though they shared hallways and classrooms, their worlds remained separate—until fate (and two very determined friends) stepped in. In 2019, thanks to bridesmaid and color guard teammate Lucy Hobson, along with groomsman and fraternity big brother Mat Hobson, Willow and Quentin were finally introduced. The spark was there, but it wasn’t until July 2020 that they went on their first official date. From that moment, everything fell into place. Just a few weeks later, on August 5, 2020, they made it official—and the rest, as they say, is history.
In January 2023, Willow and Quentin took the next big step in their journey together—moving into their first apartment. As luck (or fate) would have it, they chose the coldest day of the year to haul their belongings inside, braving the freezing temperatures for their new beginning. But there was one more hurdle to overcome: the official trial run of Quentin, as judged by their fur-baby, Gigi. Fortunately, he passed the test. The plan was simple—live together for a year and make sure they didn’t drive each other crazy before even thinking about buying a house. As it turned out, things went well enough that by October, they were ready to take the plunge. Just before heading off on an incredible vacation to Greece and Turkey with Willow’s family and the Raver family, they put in an offer on a house. Between island hopping and sightseeing, negotiations were in full swing. And before their trip even ended, their offer was accepted! By the time Halloween rolled around, Willow and Quentin were officially homeowners
The new house had everything Willow and Quentin had been looking for—perfect location, perfect size, and all the potential in the world. But one thing was certain: it was also perfectly stuck in 1990. With a million ideas already brewing and at least a dozen Pinterest boards to match, Willow was eager to celebrate their new home with a pre-renovation house party filled with family and friends before the real work began. While Willow was busy planning the party, Quentin realized it was the perfect opportunity to pull off something even bigger—a surprise proposal. With the help (and impeccable decorating skills) of Lucy Hobson, he set everything in motion, making sure that nearly 60 of their closest friends and family would be there for the big moment. Once everything was in place, all Quentin needed was a way to get Willow outside to the backyard where the proposal was set up. Enter their friend Rachel Frasier, who delivered an extremely convincing excuse: “Quentin wants you to come look at the mushrooms outside.” It sounded as weird as it was, but somehow, it worked. The moment Willow stepped outside, she knew—it was finally happening. With tears in his eyes, Quentin admitted that he had tried practicing his proposal in the shower that morning, but kept crying too much to get through it. After pulling himself together, he took a deep breath and said: "I just love you so much, and I really don't know what there is to say—so I'm just going to be corny as shit for a second, okay? I have a nice job and a nice life and all… I have a happy life, now a happy home, and hopefully a happy wife. Will you marry me?" Spoiler alert: she said yes.
