Evan & Rebecca met on the dating app, Hinge. Within one date, the two realized there were many similarities between them, the most notable was discovered on date #2. Meeting up at Baltimore favorite, Max's Taphouse in Fells Point, the Bartender serving the couple joked about having the same birthday. In shock and disbelief, the two exchanged drivers licenses and realized that sure enough, the date of January 21st was a commonality.

Evan asked Rebecca's parents for permission to marry in July of 2023 on an family trip to Portugal. When it came time to get down on one knee, Evan expertly aligned the big question to when Rebecca's family would all be in town to celebrate. Leading up to the proposal, Evan bought Rebecca fresh flowers daily, setting them up in the morning before she left for work. The morning of the proposal, Evan told Rebecca that they were meeting with some friends for brunch in Fells Point. When arriving to Fells Point, Evan asked Rebecca to take a selfie at the bottom of the pier. Knowing that Evan was not a 'selfie' person, she got a bit of an inkling something was up. Next thing they knew, Evan was down on one knee and Rebecca was in tears. Little did she know, Rebecca's sister Leanna and her boyfriend, Brandon were positioned at the top of the pier taking photos of the entire event. That was not all, Evan then surprised Rebecca with family and friends at Ryleigh's Oyster for drinks and brunch to celebrate!
