Hotel
In Italy, it is common for as many wedding guests to stay together at the venue, transforming the celebration into a multi day gathering with family and friends. We would love for you to be part of that experience. To fully embrace the spirit of an Italian destination wedding, we highly encourage our guests to stay on site at Castello di Petrata. One of the things we are most looking forward to is spending time with all of our guests throughout the week. Having as many people stay with us as the venue can accommodate will allow us to create a truly intimate and unforgettable experience together. To make planning as seamless as possible, a dedicated concierge service will be available to assist with booking your accommodations, coordinating transportation, arranging airport transfers, and helping with travel throughout the surrounding towns and region during your stay. Reservations for accommodations will not be available until January 2027. Stay tuned- more details will be posted as this date approaches.
Flight
Rome generally has the best flight options and easiest international connections.
Flight
Flight
Easiest airport geographically (~20-25 minutes to Castello di Petrata), usually requires a connection somewhere in Europe, but is a smaller airport with fewer international flight options.
Train
1. Land at Rome FCO 2. Take the train from the airport to Assisi station (usually ~3 hours with one connection) 3. Taxi/private transfer from Assisi station to Castello di Petrata (~15 minutes)
Travel Note
You can arrange a direct driver from Rome airport straight to the venue. Drive time is about 2.5-3 hours depending on traffic.
Rental Car
Sixt is recommended best overall. Others to consider: Hertz, Europcar, Avis, and Sicily by Car to name a few... You do not have to rent a car. Many guests rely on organized transfers during the wedding week and do not need to rent a car. If you are arriving early or extending your stay to explore more of Italy, you may choose to rent a car. The information is here for you to decide what best suits your travel :) You can rent directly at Rome (FCO) after you land. It's generally the easiest pick-up location, has the largest selection, and lets you avoid driving through central Rome. Things to keep in mind: Get a small SUV or compact car and avoid large/oversized luxury vehicles as you will be traveling through Italian roads in hill towns can be very narrow.
