Meredith and Spencer met in West Hartford, CT in 2018. They were introduced through mutual friends and quickly hit it off! Spencer asked Meredith out on a casual first date to World of Beer and it was instantly clear that they had a connection. That first date was quickly followed up with another, this time to a nice Italian restaurant called Treva, and the rest is history! Fast forward two years later, Spencer and Meredith both got jobs in NYC and moved in together. They survived living in a studio apartment during COVID and that is when they knew they could get through anything. Four years later and they are now engaged!
It was a cold, windy day in NYC and Spencer had made a reservation at a restaurant that they had both been wanting to try right by the Hudson River in Chelsea. Unbeknownst to Meredith, Spencer had reached out to the owner of the pier across the street (Pier 57) to get private access to the roof which he knew had a beautiful view of the downtown skyline. Spencer and Meredith used to live in Chelsea and spent a lot of time enjoying the Hudson River Park which was also in clear view from the pier. Spencer convinced Meredith that they should get a beer at the pier before dinner. Because of the weather that day, Meredith was initially reluctant but they made it. Once they passed the brewery and entered one of the elevators with just a staff member Meredith knew something was up. Once they reached the roof, Spencer got down on one knee and proposed! Spencer's best man, Danny, captured it all on camera. After the proposal, Meredith thought they would still be going to their reservation in Chelsea. Instead, Spencer surprised Meredith by taking her to Union Square Cafe where both of their families were there to celebrate!
