We met at my job. I am a police officer. Sherice had gotten a ticket for running a stop sign and had come back to speak to he officer who cited her to get information on how to resolve the ticket. I happened to be on duty that day and escorted Sherice to speak to the officer. Once Sherice was done speaking with the officer, I decided to walk her back to her car. During this walk I learned that she was in the Army. Since I was in the Air Force, this started a very interesting conversation about which branch was better and we begin making fun of the other and the fact that we were in opposing branches of service. Good natured “shade” throwing. From the start, we instantly had great chemistry. I could tell she was playing that hard role, but truth be told, I could see right through it. She had this mean look on her face, but once she began to smile, and laugh a little, I knew it was merely a front. Once we went our separate ways, I begin to feel extremely regretful that I didn’t get her number to contact her. The bottom line is that when I’m at work, I am strictly professional. I don’t smile, I don’t conversate with many people, and I focus on my job. But something about Sherice threw me off my game. I was taken by her, and it left me confused. I told myself that I would never see her again and I became very saddened over the next several days. I tried to put her out of my mind along with her witty sense of humor, her wanna be tough demeanor, and that laugh of hers that sounded so sweet to me kept echoing in my mind over and over again. To my absolute surprise, two weeks later Sherice was back taking care of other matters. This time I wasted no time striking up a conversation and getting her number. I tried to be cool the entire time, but I was so excited I could barely contain myself. To top it off, Sherice was very delicious to my eyes. I said to myself, “I’ve got to have that. I’m going to make her mine!” And that’s exactly what I did.

I proposed to Sherice at a nice restaurant on the beach in Pensacola Florida. My daughter was with us. I made Sherice think that we were throwing a celebration for my daughter. I told Sherice to take my daughter out of the restaurant while the wait staff set the place up. Little did she know that my daughter was in on the entire setup, and that Sherice was the one that I needed out of the restaurant while we got everything setup. Once they came back in, I had a member of the wait staff record the entire proposal on Facebook live. As I began speaking, I could see the look on Sherice’s face as she began to realize that this entire setup was for the proposal. I have to say that I have never been so nervous, and I’ve never seen Sherice so shy, surprised and nervous all at the same time. The best part of the entire proposal is that the entire restaurant got dead quiet while watching and began to applaud after she said yes.
