Whitney M. Nico-Steen

Matron of Honor

Well I’ve been knowing Cherish since 2019 when I became her favorite supervisor in the world at the Salvation Army. Cherish was always a joy to be around and she has always brought peace into my life. When those tough situations would occur on the job I knew I could count on her and she could count on me. Becoming her life long friend has been one of the best decision of my life. She is easy to talk to and we have awesome conversations with a bunch of laughter. Cherish accepts me for who I am and I appreciate that about her. We’re locked in forever 💕💚

ZEE

Maid of Honor

I had class my first college course ever with your cousin, Taryn. Me and Taryn were walking to the student union at DH and Taryn said we were going to meet up with her cousin. That's where I met this tall chick that with a slicked back bun and a hoodie lol. Little did I know, 20 years later, that tall chick and I would have lived and experienced a lot of life together, and I would still call her my best friend and sister.

Bridesmaid

Cherish and I began our friendship via the Salvation Army, Cherish was my shift lead at the time and then our friendship transitioned with me being offered an opportunity to be apart of her team selling insurance. I am still working on the insurance part. I have had the privilege to travel to Cancun, Mexico, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and Nashville, Tennessee with Cherish. I was introduced to Willie over a game of pool 2021.

Lanie

Jr. Brides Maid

The bride is my mother. Me and my mother are very close and can tell each other pretty much everything, with out her judging me like other people.

Adelaide Chertkow

Bridesmaid

I met Cherish through Child Development courses at LA Harbor College. Like many of the classes we attended and projects that we created together surrounding early childhood education, Cherish and I could always make each other belly laugh in class and support each other with very little effort. She’s been one of my most dear friends who’s been there for me in some of my adult life’s pivotal moments, including throwing the most thoughtful baby shower for me and being out of this world with the best motherly advice as I navigate raising my children. As our classes came to an end, and we’ve since moved away from our concrete jungle days in LA, Cherish and I still connect with giggly phone calls full advice on all things, stories, and continued growth and support for the other. On a personal note, Cherish is the embodiment of a true life long friend. Weeks or even months can go by and when we catch up, it’s as if we spoke just yesterday.

Chrisdon Noel

Bridesmaid

How I met the bride and groom: I met Willie when we attended Huston-Tillotson University in 2009. Since then I have married his twin brother Willis and Willie has become my Brother in Love. I met Cherish first at church, then thru Texas Empowerment, and lastly we truly started to get to know one another thru Whitney.
