We first met on Facebook Dating. We both match on July 4, 2020, where Willie messaged Ashley asking about the cross stitch crafts she does; as his mom does similar things. Ashley messaged back asking why he liked Creed from The Office; as they are both Office nerds. They talked quite a bit over phone, facetime and texting; before meeting up in person July 17, 2020. They officially became a couple October 26, 2020.

On October 4th 2021, unbeknownst to Ashley; Willie had planned to propose after they got back from the TX State Fair. They had just finished from the fair and doing other errands when they decided to pick up dinner from Razzoos. They decided to eat at Ashley's apartment and watch a movie. Willie had then put the ring in the fridge for Ashley to see, right by the cookies Ashley made a few days before. Ashley went into the fridge to get the cookies as a dessert. She got them both cookies and put the bag back where it was before and didn't see the ring, as the box was closed and she thought it was just something else that was in the fridge. He asked her if there was anything she saw that was different, she said "No" and he told her to look again. That's when she saw the ring box, took it out of the fridge and opened it. He then asked her if he would marry her and she said yes.
