It was Black Friday and I was in the Thrift Store right around the corner from school catching some good sales! My phone had just died and I needed a quick charge to contact my parents who were transferring money to my poor ole' student bank account. While charging my phone at the front of the store, I saw this clean cut, fine brotha' walking around helping other customers. From a distance, I could tell that he took his job seriously and wanted to make sure each customer had a great shopping experience. I was hoping he'd come my way so I can act like I needed some help. Minutes later, he approached me and asked if I needed help with anything (look at God! Ha!). I asked him to explain the current sales they had going on (even though I already knew) and the conversation kept going from there. We talked about God and so many other things in that one setting which led me to believe that he was not only handsome but a quality guy. I was getting the vibes that he was interested in me and I just knew he'd ask me for my number. When the conversation came to an end, he said, "Alright now, it was great talking to you-you have a blessed day,” and walked away to continue on with his work. "Errr-uhmmmm, what?? Your'e not going to ask for my number? Maybe he was just being nice", I thought. I smiled and continued shopping so confused. I thought, "Ok, this checkout line is long, if he approaches me again, I know he is interested for sure!". I got in the checkout line, and sure enough, he approached me again. We ended up exchanging numbers and it was history from there!
Moving to Huntsville from Chicago I figured would be a difficult transition. But, it opened the door for me to meet the lady that I’m deeply in love with now- Willicia! Prior to meeting Willicia face to face, I saw her on YouTube giving her Miss Oakwood University speech. I was amazed. She was very beautiful and smart. But, what really appealed to me was her desire to dedicate her life to service. This led me to ask the Man above for an oppurtunity to meet Willicia and He allowed that to take place. She was shopping at my place of employment and nervous chills ran down me once the oppurtunity was alloted for me to speak to her. We spoke, and we’ve been together ever since. Now, I get to walk down the aisle and spend the rest of my life with her.
