Where should I stay?

Answer

Luckily, our venue, Lodge at Marconi, is also a hotel! We will send out a booking link with our group discount by July 15 so y'all can start booking!

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Our venue is about an hour north of San Francisco, in Marshall, just along Tomales Bay. The best way to get to our venue is by car. If you do not have a car, we recommend renting one. Please note that ride share apps like Lyft and Uber are not available in the area. More information about getting there and potential carpooling will follow.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

November is the beginning of winter, but as we know, the weather in the Bay Area is very unpredictable. The safest bet is to check the weather ahead of time and always pack layers.

Will the events be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We will have a mixture of the two! To help keep folks warm, we will have heaters and blankets, if needed. All indoor spaces will be heated.

What should I wear?

Check the "schedule" section to see dress code for each event. Our venue is sitting on a state park so do not wear stilettos.

What about my dog?

Answer

The hotel is dog friendly! Let us know if you are planning on bringing your pup to ensure that you are in a dog friendly room. Unfortunately the doggies aren't invited to the ceremony or reception

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

There is parking for each event space and will be accessible. Please let us know if you have any access requirements that you think we should be aware of or if you need an ADA room.

Are we still worried about Covid?

Answer

The health and safety of our guests is incredibly important to us. We will be having guests with a wide range of ages and immune systems. While we love each of you dearly, please do not come if you are sick. If you feel like going above and beyond, please take a covid test beforehand!

Is there anything I need to know about traveling in San Francisco?

Answer

1. The weather in San Francisco varies from neighborhood to neighborhood. No matter where you are in the Bay Area, we always recommend packing multiple layers of clothing as one minute will be warm and the next might be cold. 2. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR! Unfortunately car break-in are incredibly common. If you have a backpack or bag, please bring it with you. Hiding it in your trunk will not deter people from breaking in. 3. San Francisco has a lot of bad press, but it is an incredibly beautiful and inspiring city. We have lived in SF for a combination of 22 years and feel thankful every day to live here. 4. Locals will make fun of you for referring to San Francisco as "San Fran". If you want to sound like a local "The City" or "SF" are usually preferred. :)

Is San Francisco as apocalyptic as the news makes it seem?

Answer

San Francisco is a wonderful city full of great food, culture, and outdoor parks. Just like any big city, San Francisco has its ups and downs. So have fun, but travel smart! Unfortunately car break-in are incredibly common. If you have a backpack or bag, please bring it with you. Hiding it in your trunk will not detour people from breaking in.
