We first met on July 6 for a paddle at Canyon Lake, it was Jen's first time paddling. I taught her how to paddle and how not to take a group selfie. On the ride to Canyon Lake, Jen must have blessed my heart (southern style) at least three times. That was the beginning of our friendship, from teasing each other to helping her add some stuff to her paddle board, meeting Jax and talking near daily. We had long discussions and discussed many things, like my dating list, no birkenstocks or man buns, to what our favorite things to do were. Road trips for paddling or hiking, along with meet ups for lunch and happy hour filled our calendar. It was one of our roadtrips to Payson, I asked Jen what she would think of each other dating someone else. Over the next few days, I realized I don't want to see her with anyone else. Upon camping near Blueridge reservoir over Labor Day, we did talk and enjoy the time in the wild. Then on September 8, we decided to take a road trip to Jerome and it was there that I let my intentions be known and asked her to be my girlfriend. Needless to say, she said yes. So many memories since that moment! Our first overnight trip was to Tombstone, including visiting Bisbee and the old missile silo near Tucson. Note, if you want a workout go to Bisbee, lots of hills. The Olive Oil store there was really cool. The Meyer Lemon oil is a regular staple in our kitchen! On Christmas Day while opening gifts, I saved the best gift for last. I asked her help while trying to read a tag on a present. She was a little to intent on the task at hand and didn't notice the ring box or me one knee, but eventually she figured it out. And said yes! It has been the best thing to happen to us both and through everything we have experienced since then has been a blessing, and I love her more every day. Here is to the rest of our lives together! The best part of our wedding will be getting to share it with each and every one of you. We can't wait to be best friends for life and share this moment with you. Lets Party!
