Matron of Honor
Shanita and Emily met in the 2nd grade during Fairlawn summer camp. They hung out enough and they decided they were going to be Godsister. Shanita had better hand writing so she wrote a contract in her composition notebook and they had their parents sign. They’ve been God sisters ever since. From high school basketball games to teen clubs, to every other adventure, 24 years later we’re still strong. Emily served as her bridesmaid in 2024.

Christina and Emily met while at work at an elementary school. Emily was “rocking” a very escalated child to sleep when Christina stopped in to introduce herself. They talked about travel, brunch, and students while the student was falling asleep. After one night at a wine bar they’ve been besties ever since ! Traveled to 6 countries and many cities together in the sunshine which is their favorite thing to do!

Jess and Emily met at work when they quickly realized they had a similar vibe. They used each other as a sounding board when they needed to vent and Jess often helped Emily with math problems when it came to coaching teachers. They would go get lunch together everyday and take walks around the city. Jess introduced her husband to Sean and double dates became part of their routine.

Tay and Emily met in the 4th and 5th grade at Dream Keepers Academy. It’s unclear how Tay and Emily became friends because Tay was in a younger grade but they hung out almost every weekend at each others houses. Even when Tay moved away to different states they still would keep in touch and talk on the phone for hours. Tay eventually moved back during high school and they went to the same high school and picked up where they left off. They’ve traveled to many countries together and enjoy yearly visits to catch up since they live 300+ miles away from each other

Victoria and Emily trauma bonded as assistant principals together and the rest is history! Hahah their first conversation outside of work was a 3 hour phone conversation while Emily was driving to Virginia Beach they talked about work, future plans and random stuff in between this brought them closer together. Victoria was one of the first people who knew when Emily and Sean started dating and she was texting to check in when Emily went with Sean to Charlottesville for this crazy Halloween party and it was only their 3rd date. She always provided advice for their relationship and pushes Emily’s thinking on many things which brought them to be closer! Through many travels and inside jokes it’s going to be great having her support in this next step.

Ashley is Sean’s sister. They met for the first time about 3 months after Sean and Emily started dating. Ashley and her family were very welcoming to Emily and Ashley gave her stamp of approval lol. It’s only right that her new sister in-law is by her side on the big day!
Sakina

Best story ever! Emily sat next to Sakina and her then fiancé on a plane heading to Puerto Rico and started talking. Sakina had got engaged the night before so it was an exciting flight. Emily and Sakina kept running into each other while on vacation so they exchanged contact information. Through many cancelled outbound flights, they hung out together while stranded in Puerto Rico. From there they started hanging out in DC. From many birthday parties, brunches, Ritz Carlton ventures their friendship continues. Emily was asked to be a bridesmaid for Sakina’s wedding in 2021 now it’s Sakina’s (aka the best planner ever) turn.

Shanice and Emily met through a Bible study group at Union Church. They started their friendship by going to a haunted house and almost getting wiped off the road by a hawk and then a neighborhood Halloween party. They continued to hang out and it was easy to see that Shanice was the life of the party, every party she attends. She makes sure everyone is having a great time (or taking shots) and has all the ideas. It’s only right that she help host the wedding

Starling and Emily met on the host team at Union church! They served together many early mornings and helped set up and break down the church on Sundays. Starling is a huge support system for Emily and is always down for a good and childish time. Starling’s very compassionate nature and consistent personality is what caused her and Emily to be friends in and outside of church! It’s only right that she is doing something random and silly on the big day !

Kyle and Sean have a love for each other that can only be described as unconditional. As Irish twins they share the most special of bonds. As best friends they have always been there for each other and it will be a memory I never forget as Kyle celebrates us as my best man for life. Love you bro

Pablo and Sean go way back. I mean waaayy back, all the way to the stroller aparently which is where we met when our mothers met walking around the neighborhood we grew up in. Pablo is quite literrally my oldest friend with over 30 years friendship and brotherhood. So many adventure and wonderful memories , from the school bus to sharing thanksgivings with our families, and the unwavering friendship through out. So happy to have you there with me as I embark on this next adventure.

Zac and Sean met at GWU , survived Thurston, and became best of friends over the next decade plus. There has been never a dull moment, sandwiched betweeen the best of times. Having lived together during our early and mid twenties there are too many stories tell. So, I wouldnt have it any other way, that on my big day he will be there as one of my groomsmen as Emily and I begin this next chapter.

Dog mom of now 3, Born and raised in Hampton Roads area, 757. Moved to the DMV on December 2015, wow ! Almost 10 years ago, crazy to think about! Works as an assistant principal in DC schools. Sean and Emily met on bumble July 2022 over a conversation about festivals and his beard 😉 . Their first date was top golf where Sean pretended he wasn’t into golf and was way hitting way too far for him to “not be good” he helped Emily golf that night and didn’t want the date to end and asked Emily for dinner after. Sean’s intentionality is what made Emily fall in love with him especially when he remembered everything she liked and continued to incorporate it while they were getting to know each other. Emily and Sean now love to travel together, hang with the dogs, and golf.

Taylor and Sean's friendship began over 20 years ago. During those formative years when your trying to learn yourself and do as much dumb/fun shit. Taylor was there teaching me to play tunk, freak a mild, and to generally just go with the flow. The funtimes have been good n plenty, from Nelson Ledges (Pablo was there too) to watching you get married. Im thrilled to know you will be there on my big day. Cheers to more good times ahead.

Their friendship started when they were both starting out their career in sales slinging roofs and then became thick as thieves as they say. We graduated from nights on H or U to more demure outings on the golf course. Our friendship has been such a crazy , awesome , and wild ride. Thrilled you will be here for the our wedding day. Sean and David friendship began during GWU. So many great times , from Hell Well runs to skipping class to watch Movies in Georgetown to the many nightime escapades. Their shared love of music, family, fun, and a whimisical optimism for life created a special bond over the last 14 years.
