FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Although the daytime may be warm, evening in the Catskills at any time of year is chilly. As we’re on a mountainside, it’s also a couple degrees cooler than the nearby towns. We recommend bringing a sweater!

Question

Are the ceremony and reception going to be outside?

Answer

Yes. The ceremony will be in a clearing in the woods. The reception will be in a field under a tent, a short walk down from the ceremony. Restrooms will be provided via a restroom trailer (they will have running water, electricity, mirrors).

Question

Will there be vegetarian dinner options?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know if you’d prefer the vegetarian option. Please also let us know if you have additional dietary needs, so we can co-ordinate with our caterer and make sure you’re able to eat a scrumptious meal.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Festive attire, semi-formal, cocktail attire, and dressy casual are all suggested dress codes. We realize this is a bit broad, but we want you to wear what makes you happy! Our only strong suggestion would be to wear shoes you can do a short walk through the woods in.

Question

I’m having trouble finding accommodations in the area, can you help?

Answer

Yes, please let us know if you would like help finding lodgings! We realize this is an extremely busy weekend for the Catskills, and that many places are booked up. We’re happy to help you find something in your budget. We do recommended booking as soon as you can.

Question

What are our transportation options?

Answer

Lyft and Uber are spotty at best in Shokan and the Catskills overall, with the exception of Kingston. Driving is the easiest option in this area, but we understand not everyone will have wheels, and of course, no one should drive under the influence! With that in mind, we have arranged for a local taxi company to bus some guests to the wedding site in the afternoon, and from the wedding site in the later evening. If you would like this option, please email/text us the address or area of where you’ll be staying so our taxi friends can add to their route.

Question

What kind of Covid-19 safety measures will be in place?

Answer

In light of recent increases in Covid cases, we are asking that everyone takes a rapid Covid test 1-3 days prior to the wedding to help ensure safety for all. Additional safety measures will be: - Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors - Hand sanitizer will be readily available - Wrist bands indicating individual distancing preferences If you’d like additional individual safety measures (such as being placed at a distance, etc) please let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate. Your safety is our priority.
