The simple story is that Zack was a cliche and fell for the bartender. The longer story... On New Years Day, Zack and his friends were out celebrating. At last call, Amanda and the other staff were walking around trying to clear everyone out. When she went up to Zack, she told him and his friends to finish their drinks and go home. Zack puffed up his chest and asked "what are you going to do about it?" Amanda pushed him into the gambling machines turned around and sat up at the bar. He followed her up and said "If you are going to kick my ass can I at least get your number?" She said yes, as long as he ran out of the bar right after. 5 years later here we are.

When celebrating their 4 year anniversary, they went up to Amanda's family cabin. Every year they go up for a quiet weekend doing some of their favorite things. Spending time outside, playing games, listening to music, cooking together and spending time around the fire. On Saturday night, they were around the fire playing board games. Zack got up to grab something (the ring). When he came back to the fire, Amanda was dancing and singing with their dog, Chubby. Zack came back to dance and sing with them. Chubby & Amanda spun around and when Amanda came back around, Zack was on a knee. For the first time in their life, she was speechless and Zack was the talker. He asked to spend forever together, and of course, she said yes.
