Our Story

His Side: The rose is red, and the violet is blue, but our love began on a little blue bird. From our first conversation, she was the funniest person I had ever met. Our first phone date was when I knew she was the one. Everything with us was always simple—simple in the way we talked, simple in the way we celebrated my anniversary. It was easy to see that she had been my best friend from the very beginning. I was her favorite poet, and I knew that whenever I was in doubt, I could always turn to her for strength. In four years together, it feels like we’ve already lived a lifetime. In the beginning, we used to say we were moving too fast, but looking back—surviving a pandemic together, witnessing an eclipse together, and getting baptized together—it was always clear. Simple. You were meant to be my wife, my other half, the one I can’t wait to spend forever with. Her Side: The first time I saw him I thought: 'Oh, he's kinda cute, but he seems a bit too sad and mysterious for me.' And I love laughing and cracking jokes too much to be hanging around with this emotional poet... But then, after our first date (where he completely beat me in a bowling game—I still think he should've let me win, by the way), I realized I had just spent the entire night having the absolute best time with him. We laughed and enjoyed the night like we had known each other forever. We became best friends that night and never looked back. Falling in love with William felt like coming home. It felt natural, effortless—like I had met my other half. From our first dates during the pandemic, to growing our faith together, we stayed these same best friends that enjoy simple moments together. I have no doubt that God will guide and protect us through years and years of a safe and beautiful marriage, with each other as best friends. Can’t wait for our next rematch on the bowling lane!
