Like many others, COVID-19 has shifted the way we think of the world. We were extremely fortunate to escape this pandemic with our health and loved ones. Early in the pandemic, we realized the importance of quality health care, and with Ryann working for a large hospital system we decided to elope so we could both have high quality health insurance. Yay privatized health care! We found a Justice of the Peace to marry us on April 16, 2020. Since this was very early in the pandemic, family and friends were not permitted to attend. We celebrated with an arepa lunch, from Valencia Luncharia, and ate it in the car on the way back to Long Island. As the pandemic proceeded, priorities shifted. We have decided since our elopement to cancel our original wedding plans, and purchase our first home! We are scheduled to close on June 3, 2021.
