William and I were set up through our mutual friends. My college friend Jen had a coworker named Audrey who asked the office if any of them had any single friends. Jen messaged me and asked if I wanted to go on a blind date (sort of). I saw one picture of him and agreed to meet him. He saw my Facebook profile picture. I gave Audrey my contact information and told her William could text me to figure out details for our blind date. He didn’t text for a few days so it was already off to a great start... ha! Anyway, we exchanged a few generic texts about ourselves. We both worked the Saturday of the party. I didn’t hear from him all day and grew nervous about meeting him. I finally got home from work and quickly got ready for the party. I walked into the venue not knowing a single person and William hadn’t arrived yet. Thankfully, Audrey was so welcoming and I felt comfortable. After a drink, I waited in the corner next to the bar for William. He walked up while I was distracted and introduced himself. I was instantly in awe of his great red beard. We introduced ourselves. Thankfully the alcohol from my drink was calming. We talked about our work day and made casual conversation. We sat down to our assigned table and William introduced me to everyone. We all joked about being on a first date. The dinner went smoothly and dancing was next. We had so much fun that night and I was surprised a blind date could go so well. I know we’ve all heard of the dating scene these days. At the end of the night, William offered to drive me to my car. After work the next day, William texted and asked how my day was. He asked me out on date that night and we had so much fun. The next night was July 4th. We made plans to watch fireworks at my Matron of Honor’s house. William met a few of my friends. He did great. Here we are, two years later and taking the biggest step in our relationship. I can’t wait to marry this wonderful man.
