On the anniversary of meeting her grandmother, June Batman, with the blessing of her mother Lynne Brown, I asked Rhiannon to marry me for the rest of our lives with the help of June's wedding ring. I chose the covered bridge at the Eli Whitney Museum in New Haven. This was the place that Rhiannon professed to have first discovered her feeling to be more than friendly. I called forth my witnesses Hannah and Matt Wilson and Anthony Ferraiolo and Jen Cruver to aid in my ploy. Having set the trap I proposed on a whim that we cancel our plans after work and go out to dinner, she obliged none the wiser. On our way to a completely made up venue of Italian cuisine recommended by a coworker I pulled into the Eli Whitney Museum parking lot ... just because. "Let's stop by and just have a look" I told her. She was glad to join me. Not knowing that Hannah had laid out flower pedals and Jenn had brought a bottle of champagne. We walked into the covered bridge from one side and Hannah and Matt with Anthony and Jenn joined by Lynne and Tom entered from the other side. I couldn't have planned it any better, with the backlighting of having been in a tunnel all we could see were the silhouettes of oncoming travelers. Rhiannon pulled in close as we moved nearer to the party fearing coming too close too strangers only to finally recognize the cadence and silhouette of her own mother. Perplexed as to why her mom and step father Tom would randomly be there and wait.. was this her best friend all the way from Groton here as well? "What are you doing here?" She would say only to further add to her confusion as she recognized Anthony and Jenn as well. As salutations came to a close she watched Lynne hand me the ring and froze. As I had been planning for month both Hannah and Anthony offered a pillow joining Lynne in giving their blessing and aiding me to take a knee. She said YES

A less dramatic story, but we were introduced on Rhiannon's first week of work in a Yale facility (as a contractor). We were just friends for several years, until Rhiannon left an unhealthy relationship and William was one of the people who helped her move out. A carefully-calculated amount of time later, Will asked Rhiannon out on a date, and the rest is history.
