FAQs

If you have any questions related to our wedding, please reach out!
Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Outdoors! The wedding will be held on the lawn of our summer home. We will have a tent set up for dining and dancing.

Question

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

Like any island, weather on PEI can often be unpredictable. We picked August as it is generally the warmest and sunniest month. Daytime highs average 75F.

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Coastal semi-formal, blending elegance with the relaxed charm of beachside festivities. See RSVP for more details. We will be on a lawn, so re-think those stilettos!

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

Because we understand PEI is a unique location to get to and may require an extended stay, we are allowing children at our wedding.

Question

Do I really need to book my accommodations a year in advance?

Answer

Yes! Prince Edward Island is a popular summer destination. Often people book a year in advance to make sure they can secure their cottage rentals. If you were planning to make a weeklong stay and/or are planning to stay in a cottage rental, you really do need to book as far out as possible. If you are flying up for a shorter amount of time, and only need a hotel for a few nights, you should be able to wait a little longer to book. There are a lot of hotels in downtown Charlottetown but that is 25 to 30 minutes from our house in Anglo Rustico. Hotels closer to our home book out faster!

Question

Why do I need to rent a car if I fly?

Answer

PEI does not have an across island public transportation system. There is some public transport in the capital, Charlottetown but our cottage is 30 minutes out of the "big city". If you want to be able to travel the island (and make it to our wedding), you will need to rent a car.

Question

Can I uber to and from the wedding from my hotel or cottage?

Answer

No : ( There is no uber or lyft on the island which means it is extremely difficult to find a ride to and from the wedding or any other events. There is one company called "Kari" (not my sister) that is a newer car service where you can download an app and find rides. It is fairly limited but becoming more of a thing! Drunk driving is an issue on PEI - probably because of the lack of ride services, duh! There are also a limited amount of taxi services that provide rides (although no Islander can actually tell me who they are?). Moral of the story is, do some research now if you do not want to drive to the wedding, or look into "Kari" and you may be able to book far in advance. And consider that you may end up having to drive to and from the wedding therefore it would be ideal to carpool! Will and I want to celebrate with you but we also want everyone to stay safe <3
