Hiking is our favorite thing to do and Acadia is a short drive from Bar Harbor! Some of our favorite hikes are Jordan Pond Loop, Sand Beach Trail, Bubble Rock, and Cadillac Mountain! You can also rent e-bikes and ride along the carriage trails!
Downtown Bar Harbor has the cutest local boutiques, galleries, and restaurants! Our favorite restaurants include: - Cafe This Way- yum brunch food! - McKay's- Will's favorite lobster roll !!!!!!!!! - Galyn's- owned by Memphis locals! - Side Street Cafe- get the jalapeño marg (!) - The Reading Room for brunch or dinner- where our wedding reception will be held! - The Terrace Grill- overlooks the bay- best spot to watch sunset! - Choco Latte- coffee !!!!!!!
Jordan Pond House is inside of Acadia but it is our favorite stop! The cutest restaurant with must have popovers!!! After lunch you can walk around the Jordan Pond Loop! If you're feeling crazy get the Popover Sundae with blueberry ice cream and caramel drizzle
Bar Island is a small island just off Mount Desert Island , connected to the mainland by a natural sandbar- at low tide, you can walk across the bar; at high tide, the island is cut off by water! It’s popular for short hikes, shoreline exploring, and scenic views of Frenchman Bay and Acadia National Park! (but don't get stuck over there)
Kayaking in Frenchman Bay is one of our favorite Bar Harbor activities! Kayak around the Porcupine Islands, Bear Island, and Bar Island; explore rocky shorelines and coves; and look for the seals and bald eagles!!
